BACHELOR OF PERFORMING ARTS (STAGE MANAGEMENT)

Delivered by Collarts – The Australian College of the Arts
Anticipated start date: February 2027 (Trimester 1)

OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Stage Management is a hands-on, industry-focused degree delivered by Collarts – the Australian College of the Arts. Designed for emerging production leaders, the course prepares students to take creative work from vision to reality through professional stage management and technical production training.

Before a casting call is announced, stage managers are already shaping the production. Whether guiding performers through the rehearsal process or using the nuances of sound and lighting to bring a scene to life, stage management and technical production teams are at the heart of every performance.

With units covering theatre studies, stage management projects, technical production and critical thinking, students gain a deep understanding of the practices, responsibilities and workflows that underpin successful performing arts productions.

Students also benefit from hands-on industry placements and collaborative projects across disciplines, building the confidence, experience and creative connections needed to thrive in professional theatre and live production environments.
